Using Notebooklm, I created a video summarizing a recent lecture by Geoffrey Hinton in Bristol, where he made several key statements:
- We have managed to separate intelligence from its physical substrate. With biological intelligence, when the hardware dies, the intelligence dies. With digital intelligence, that does not happen.
- Biological intelligence is highly inefficient.
- Communication between humans happens at a few bits per second. LLMs exchange a trillion bits per second.
- GPT-4 is as good as a not-too-expert expert, but in practically everything.
- No human will ever know as much as GPT-4.
